At the 10th Annual Instant Payments Summit 2026 in Frankfurt, our MD & CEO, Mr. Ritesh Shukla, joined a high-impact discussion on the evolution of instant payments, global interoperability, and the shift toward truly borderless real-time transactions.

As part of the ongoing efforts to explore UPI-led collaborations in West Africa in Dakar, Senegal, NPCI International engaged with the Central Bank - BCEAO, and GIM UEMOA on building inclusive, interoperable, and scalable payment ecosystems, drawing from India’s UPI journey.

NIPL delegation concluded a series of high‑level engagements in Lilongwe, Malawi, to introduce India’s UPI as a cornerstone of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure. The discussions focused on UPI’s role in advancing financial inclusion aligned with Malawi Vision 2063.

Mr. Amararam Gujar, High Commissioner of India, along with a delegation from NPCI International Payment Ltd (NIPL) comprising of Mr Ritesh Shukla, MD & CEO of NIPL and Mr Nehal Shah (In-charge, Africa) met with Hon. Joseph Mwanamvekha, Minister of Finance, Economy and Decentralisation, Government of Malawi. The meeting served to introduce India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), a globally recognized leader in instant payment systems. Key Discussion Points include: • The High Commissioner mentioned that digitizing the economy helps to boost economic growth and streamline public services.
