A pioneer in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr Tector was instrumental in the early success of the heart transplant and LVAD program at Aurora St Luke’s. He did get to witness our 1000th transplant milestone celebration just a few days before he passed. RIP !
The Society extends its condolences to the family & colleagues of Dr. Alfred (Cy) Tector, who passed away earlier this month. He performed >14,000 operations in his 50 yrs as a CT surgeon. Dr. Tector also was a “history maker,” creating an innovative mammary artery "T" graft.
