Some day today on only our second year breeding mule gimmer lambs. We averaged £121 for 115 sold. £30 up on last year. I know trades strong but it’s a credit to everyone at Thrimby with that sort of improvement. Beer, steak and bed tonight. Good day in the office

Good morning from the howgills. Checking on the lambs. More store lambs heading to @NWAuctions this week before our grass stops growing this year. We have a short growing season so it makes sense to sell lambs ‘store’ so they can eat grass elsewhere and not ‘cake’.

Today at Lancaster: Short keep cattle trade today was as strong as ever with more desperately needed to fulfil our busy ring of buyer’s orders. The market topped at a very impressive £1650 from for a @herefordmarket bullock from JM & AG Swarbrick.
