When my career is over… I don’t think I’ll remember test scores or curriculum maps. But I WILL remember some kids, and some teachers… and custodians, and nurses, ans secretaries, and paras, and counselors, and SROs, and CNP workers. It is the people that matter to me.

On some days, you may have students who need you to be their cheerleader more than they need you to be their teacher.
It’s important to remember that some students deal with a lot. And always remember the role you can play in helping them get through it.

A lot of kids don’t like school. That’s the reality. When the adults in the building get to know those kids and genuinely care about them… they can turn that around. That’s also the reality.
