Celtic have reportedly renewed their interest in Hellas Verona striker Kieron Bowie following the Italian side’s relegation from Serie A. The 23-year-old joined Verona from Hibernian in a £6 million deal during the January transfer window and made an immediate impact, scoring four goals in 14 appearances. Among those goals were impressive strikes against Italian heavyweights Juventus and Inter Milan. Despite Bowie’s contributions, Verona were unable to avoid the drop to Serie B, with the club now expected to cash in on several players this summer. According to reports from Italy, Celtic have already made initial enquiries about the former Hibs forward, having tracked him before his move abroad earlier this year. Tuttomercatoweb claims discussions are still at an early stage, but the situation could develop as the transfer window progresses. The Scottish champions may face competition for Bowie’s signature, however, with interest also believed to be coming from Serie A clubs. Bologna have previously been linked with the striker. Bowie scored 15 goals during his time at Hibs and had already found the net eight times last season before completing his move to Verona. His first campaign at Easter Road was disrupted by injury, but he quickly established himself as a key player once fit.

Celtic have reportedly offered Mexican flop Efrain Juarez a sensational return to the club as part of Martin O'Neill's backroom team - with sources in North America claiming that he will succeed the Irishman in the top job at Parkhead next year. Juarez - who stepped down from his role last week - previously turned out for Celtic in the 2010/11 season but made just 21 appearances before being sold. O'Neill has been appointed as permanent Hoops boss for the coming season after salvaging the 2025/26 campaign by delivering a Premiership and Scottish Cup double. And Mexican outlet Juanfutbol claim that he wants Juarez to join his coaching team ahead of the new season with a view to then taking over as manager in early 2027.

Ex-Celt Oh Hyeon-gyu was the hero for South Korea last night, scoring the winning goal against the Czech Republic in their opening World Cup match. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I always felt Oh had quality and, at the time, I was firmly in the camp that didn't want Celtic to let him go. Looking back now, it feels like he may well be the one that got away. With Celtic currently searching for more firepower up front, he's certainly the type of striker many fans would love to have in the squad today.
