It’s WARNING season, NYC. In the last week, we’ve handed out nearly 5,000 warnings to 1-9 unit buildings who are not using the official NYC Bin for trash. Tickets, with a fine attached, will be issued starting September 8. YOU CAN AVOID A TICKET! Trash bins are in stock, and more are arriving daily. Info at bins.nyc. (And remember, 1-9 unit buildings can already get a ticket now if trash is not in a bin at all.)

We wish we had a window into the mind of a loser who would dump all this trash in Brooklyn! What a "pane" they must be. Dispose of your home improvement projects properly and DON'T DUMP ON OUR CITY!

Great news New York! With the Department of Finance, we've extended the deadline for our bin reimbursement program. Eligible households have until September 7th to apply for the bin reimbursement program. As a reminder, all NYC buildings with 1-9 units must put their trash in an official NYC bin as of June 1st, with no fines being issued until September 8th. All information is available at bins.nyc

β€œOur message to Albany has been clear for months: Let us clean!" - Sanitation Commissioner Gregory Anderson. NYS Assembly has days to pass a bill allowing DSNY to enforce alternate-side parking rules with cameras attached to street sweepers, which means YOUR street will be cleaner. A street sweeper can pick up 1,500 pounds of trash per shift, but only when they have full access to the curb lines; 500,000 car owners disregard street cleaning regulations every week. "If you decide that your convenience is more important than clean neighborhoods, then yes, you will receive a summons. And if Albany lets us send that message loudly and clearly to all neighborhoods, people will finally start to move their cars. We don’t want to issue summonses β€” we just want to clean the streets.” More: on.nyc.gov/49APzwA
