Patient presents in extremis with hypotension and abdominal pain. This is what you see in the upper quadrants when you attempt to do a FAST. What's the diagnosis? #POCUS

Probably one of the best deep dives into the complex factors leading up to a fatal HEMS crash. Almost a complete case study of everything that is wrong with the US HEMS industry. Very well done 👍 youtu.be/nVh7_g2_00Y

Hi all. Its interesting all that is happening at Twitter. I must confess i have a member for over a decade and though i have enjoyed (and learned a lot from) posts by fellow professional colleagues, I have never really got the hang of using Twitter effectively. Any advice?

Heard some good things about your ambitious ECMO program in Holland. I am looking for someone interested in speaking on the topic at the ESEM (Emirates Society of EM) annual meeting in December 7-10. Can you help?

Field-friendly rule of thumb for LBBB/paced rhythm: count number large blocks S-wave depth (and round up). That's max number mm ST-elevation we should allow in that lead, measured at J-point. So for aVF it's 4 mm, for V3 it's 5 mm. Lots of excessive discordance on this ECG! OMI.

Attempts to refute conspiracies will mostly fail; but this is an admirably pragmatic effort. You can’t use reason to lead someone out of a position they didn’t use reason to get themselves into. theatlantic.com/technology/a… x.com/CarlShuker/status/1400…
Great piece full of zingers esp the “existential” in “how to persuade major, publicly traded multinational corporations making medical supplies to expose themselves to existential corporate liability for injecting unapproved hardware into people?’
