Cardano fails when too many of us fail to be decent community members. When the FEs act as if they are responsible for 100% of the ecosystem’s success, ignoring the many teams that filled the gaps, solved problems, and carried responsibilities they couldn’t or wouldn’t. When people, teams, and projects think they have made it, overlooking the efforts of their peers. Failing to support others so they too can contribute to raising the tide and lifting all boats, especially for the day when they may need others to do the same for them. How does it feel to be well-known on a deserted island? When people on social media spend more time attacking what they don’t like than supporting and amplifying what they do. Aren’t you tired of drowning in negativity? When people become the gatekeepers they once claimed to be fighting against. And when governance participants become too closed off to other ideas and too quick to assume bad intentions. Not everyone asking for funding is a grifter. Not everyone requesting compensation is self-serving. Some people simply need income to do the work. And they deserve to be taken seriously for their efforts and contributions. Some live in parts of the world where volunteering indefinitely is not an option. Different people face different realities. A healthy ecosystem learns to understand that and show respect for all. When people turn against each other instead of focusing on the problems we can actually solve. Too much energy is spent fighting each other. Leaders fighting other leaders over little things. Not enough is spent building, looking for opportunities, and creating wins. Some of us placed our faith in the technology itself, not in any individual, company, influencer, or leader. And that hasn’t changed. But this technology is nothing without a community. If you’re not feeling well, supported, or inspired today, I hope you find your mojo again soon. It’s okay to be disappointed. It’s okay to feel pain. It’s okay to grieve. Many people have sacrificed years of their lives trying to make Cardano better. Honor that work. Honor your own work too. Learn from your mistakes. Be grateful for what you have. Be proud of what you’ve built. And then keep going. If you can find a path forward, continue. If not, that’s okay too. Stay healthy. Find joy in life. I value every person who has spent years trying to make Cardano better. Everyone. Sorry, I also failed at being a good community member. If I’ve ever seemed unsupportive, know that it’s because this journey is hard, and many of us are exhausting every ounce of ourselves trying to make it work. Seguimos.
