Finally, a strong start to a sensibly policy to improve food security in remote Indigenous communities in Australia
Excellent news! PM promises to cap the costs of 30 essential products in more than 76 remote stores so they are the same as what people pay in the city. abc.net.au/news/2025-02-09/a… @PHAIWA @EndingTrachoma @ErinParke2 @PHAA_FANSIG @FHAllianceAU

There’s no healthy option when it comes to alcohol, no matter how low in sugar or carbs. Alcohol is a Class 1 carcinogen that causes 3,500 new cancer cases in Australia every year. Industry must not be allowed to use claims that distract from the harms. bit.ly/3CSThUD

Commercial TV companies are trying to slide through changes to their code of practice that would see 800 hours open up to alcohol advertising each year. Our community want less alcohol advertising on TV and its time their concerns are truly heard. theaustralian.com.au/nation/…

This story highlights the importance of increasing awareness of the harms caused by alcohol. We know awareness of the harms caused by alcohol is generally low. We need governments to invest in action, like mandatory health warnings, to increase awareness of alcohol-related harms.
