you can't really practically agree on percentages before entering the studio and making the song, especially if you're a songwriter/feature. Because you don't even know what the contribution is going to be. But it has to be done soon after the song is done

The cleanest split sheet process: 1) Agree percentages BEFORE entering the studio. 2) Write it on paper. 3) Everyone signs. 4) Everyone photographs it. 5) Everyone gets a copy by email. 6) Register with your PRO. That is literally the whole job. Do it every time.
