Iβve been studying chess in a serious way for 5 years.
This thread is about:
1. Why I started this journey
2. My beliefs, skills, tools, process
3. How I made chess study a daily practice and part of my identity
I hope it will help you in your chess journey. π
To Trade or Not to Trade?
White to move. Black has just defended the check with Qf6. How should White proceed? Can you find the best continuation with some help from our silicon friends?

In blitz, when way ahead in material, I usually:
1. Over protect the King
2. Force trades
3. Move quickly
4. Win a boring endgame
But sometimes, I stay in attack mode to test my tactical skills in time pressure. π₯
Which approach do you take? π€

Blitz Chess Tactic! β‘
This position came from a recent blitz game between two amateur players. With both sides having less than 10 seconds left on the clock, the pressure was on.
How should White proceed?

White against a ~1340 playing the Pirc/Rat.
Surprisingly, Stockfish is fine with me pushing 4 pawns to dominate the center.
Happy with this smooth win in blitz. π

It's been a while since I shared a game. I played a fun one yesterday, so let's look at some of the positions!
Here, white breaks in the center with d3-d4, hoping to give us an IQP. How should we respond?

Tonight I played 5 blitz games against the same player ~ 1430.
I won all 5, and we both played the same opening (Ruy with d3) every game. π³
He lost several on time, and he might have been a bit punch drunk for the last one. π₯π₯
