I was gonna ask if we could refocus on how even if we grant that Mamdani continued the lawsuit because he changed his view on whether City Council had legal authority to expand CityFHEPS eligibility, that'd mean *he* has authority to expand eligibility and he chose to not do it!

a Democratic challenger promised to drop the suit and allow the loan forgiveness to go into effect, then once he got into office he kept defending the suit to strike down the law.

I think if that president celebrated reducing the deficit "not on the backs of working people" there would be pushback from people who care about student loan forgiveness and it would be much more justified than people being mad at Biden for using the wrong shoddy legal theory

one thing that really differentiates NYC from other cities is that you have lots of parts of the city where residents are high income but a majority don't own cars - almost all of which have a lot of transplants

a modest proposal to close NYC budget gap and pay for a four year rent freeze: change property tax to be based on full market value, equalize the tax rate to 2.9%, which raises and extra $6B annually reduces monthly property tax for walk up apartments by ~$180 per unit!

Reading about life in NYC is great because it’s a mix of “Greatest city in the world!” and “Building on the success of putting trash in trash containers, here’s how New York can have grocery stores.”

This is the impact of our organizing. 💥 Deliveristas are now trading old bikes for UL-certified, safer e-bikes—thanks to NYC’s first-ever (and the nation’s first!) e-bike trade-in program we fought for & WON. Thank you @NYC_DOT @KeithPowersNYC @NYCCouncil @NYCSpeakerAdams ✊🏾

It’s always about the service. The other stuff is certainly good and worth public policy discussion but when it comes to transit it’s all about safe, frequent and reliable service first & always. People want to get where they are going quickly and predictably.
I'd like to note in the interview between @rSanti97 and @wmataGM, Randy Clarke mentioned the importance of getting service right first and how they helped with ridership. It may seem boring but provides important answers.

Clemente’s sportsmanship, unparalleled talent, and humanitarian efforts both on and off the field continue to inspire us all. I’m adamant about honoring Clemente’s legacy and am grateful for the support to bring my bill one step closer to a vote on the House floor. #RobertoClemente

Sen. @MichaelBennet: Kamala Harris was one of the very first people to endorse and work for the Child Tax Credit that cut childhood poverty in half. JD Vance has been nowhere on that. All he is for is expanding Trump's tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy
