Reform MP Sarah Pochin has been caught out and has now deleted a video from her social media showing her helping Ethel McGill, once dubbed “Britain’s biggest benefits cheat”.
Ethel faked dementia and mobility problems, hid her father’s death for 12 years, and claimed around £750,000 in benefits.
She was receiving her father’s pension and other benefits after failing to report his death. She also falsely claimed disability allowance for more than a decade.
She even asked Liverpool Housing Trust for a bigger property, claiming her family needed to live together to provide round-the-clock care for her father, who was already dead.
She also got someone to pretend to be her late father and told social workers not to speak to him because he could become aggressive.
She was jailed for six years in 2019.
