Congratulations to Nesda Technologies on 30 years of business! I was happy to join Michael & his team to help celebrate this special milestone. Michael launched Nesda in 1995 in Belleville, & the company now employs 15 staff, providing IT solutions in Quinte and beyond.
Today we celebrated the grand opening of 2 Many Bricks! Owner, Derick Weeks, created this incredible replica of Belleville City Hall in Lego to mark the occasion! Congratulations to Derick and the team on the opening of their new location in beautiful downtown Belleville.
Belleville has been ranked #3 on UHaul's top 25 Canadian growth cities of 2024! It's great to see that our city is a top destination to live, work & play in. I look forward to the future as our community continues to grow & prosper!

The 201st Quinte Exhibition is on this weekend! I was there this afternoon to help my good friend Betty Beer kick off the weekend. Be sure to stop by, there's lots going on throughout the weekend! The plans for the new fairgrounds are on display and will be underway this fall.
Open-air drug use in our public spaces is ridiculous. Our cities are in decay because no one will step up & put an end to this madness. Public spaces should be free of criminal activity, be safe & welcoming. We need urgent help @JustinTrudeau & @fordnation. Hazel McCallion was right. Fed’s have the money, Province makes the rules & cities get all the problems.
Congratulations to Hawkins on an incredible 75 years of business! Council and I were so pleased to be able to join today's celebration. I will wear my new swag proudly! Here's to another 75 years of the world's best snack. 🧀
Homelessness is hard. For everyone. Despite our best efforts, there remains a gap in funding needed to create a safe & supportive hub. I have partnered with @unitedwayhpe and am issuing a challenge: let’s come together to bridge this gap. Donate today at BuildTheBridge.ca.
Today, I stopped by Zwick's Park to check out what's new for season six of Pop-ups on the Bay! I chatted with some of the staff, who work hard to make this project happen each year and with our EcDev Committee who stopped by for lunch. Be sure to stop by the pop-ups this summer!
From the archives of CAO Rod Bovay - we dug this out just in time for another #ThrowbackThursday! This photo was taken during the construction of the Veterans Memorial Bridge in 2010. The bridge opened later that year and has served as a major connector for our city ever since.
Come cheer me on as I compete in the Mayoral Disc Golf Challenge during Activities in the Park next Tuesday from 4 - 6 pm at West Riverside Park! Thanks to Kyle & Charles from the Quinte Disc Golf Association who gave me some tips yesterday. The other mayors don't stand a chance.
A big shoutout to my daughter, Abbey, and her fiancé/soon to be husband, Jimmy, on taking part in the Ottawa Marathon this past weekend! Abbey completed a 1/2 marathon and Jimmy completed a full marathon. Very proud of both of them!
Last night Council signed the City's 48th doctor under the Doctor Recruitment Program. Welcome, Dr. Sharma! Big shout out to our Manager of Physician Recruitment Karen Poste for her great work with the program. Dr. Sharma is our fifth doctor to sign in the past six weeks alone!
Happy National Nurses Week! I am so proud to have 2 incredible nurses in my life - my wife Sue & daughter Abbey. Nurses truly are the pillars of our healthcare system. Please join me in showing your appreciation to all of our nurses this week!
