As a task for our 'Mononoke' film unit, my new S3 designed their own gods and demons of nature, emotions and concepts relevant to the film such as industrialisation. Well done CF for a genius, creepy design for the 'demon of overthinking'! @IRALanguages @IrvineRoyalAcad #ghibli

What a fantastic bunch this year who really did the school proud. Amazing to see these young people complete their YPI journey for this year, from forming the group to securing £3000 for @HarbourAyrshire, to reflecting on their success today.

Our YPI winners had a great day up at Perth attending the YPI National Event today! With 1100 others, they celebrated 2024's successes and the history of this great project. @ypi_scotland
They did IRA proud and were respectful and attentive. Well done!

The Japanese Club have been busily writing articles and reviews for all parts of our day out in Glasgow over the Christmas holidays, including the film, the meal, and Tokyo Toys. Perhaps these could feature in an upcoming issue of the Raven @MissCTomelty? 😁

The Japanese club had a fantastic, mid-holiday trip to Glasgow today to see Miyazaki's new film, 'The Boy and the Heron', and enjoy a delicious Japanese meal at Wagamama. Great to spend a day immersed in Japanese culture! @IRALanguages @IrvineRoyalAcad

Pupils in the Japanese club learned about New Year Traditions today and had a go at designing their own Nengajo (seasonal greetings cards). We ran short of time but some lovely designs (including two celebrating next year's dragon Zodiac). @IRALanguages @IrvineRoyalAcad

What a lovely day at Eglinton Park delivering the Sustaining Ecosystems workshop, in which S1 learned about the sometimes gruesome history of the Eglinton Castle ruins.

To cap off Tolkien Day at IRA S4 were treated to a viewing of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.' Pupils had a fantastic day of learning about Tolkien's writing and his magical universe.
