Most people seem to understand that a GP is able to prescribe a medication or refer using their clinical judgement. They don’t have to write a report and send it to Barry in accounts for his thoughts. The NDIS asks AHPs to explain clinical decisions- it’s a massive waste of time

Any #occupationaltherapists wondering why the woman on the left is wearing a pressure map?

#whatisOT ? Occupational therapists consider the interaction of the person, their environment and the activity to identify opportunities for improving safety and satisfaction with daily living.

Wow! Amazing resource thank you! Occupational therapists use a combination of standardised and non standardised assessment to analyse challenges with everyday activities. We create an #occupationalprofile which helps us suggest therapy and interventions. #WhatIsOT?
To help you navigate the hundreds, if not thousands, of #OccupationalTherapy assessments, we have compiled a list of over 300. Hopefully this helps provides a good starting point for exploring the different types of assessments utilized in #OT. bit.ly/40Tdwsy

#WhatIsOT? Occupational therapists can analyse your environment including the equipment you use as part of doing your daily activities. Occupation is anything you need or want to do to occupy your time. #occupationaltherapy

Replying to @natassiazc
@natassiazc $193.99 is the hourly rate. Most NDIS OTs can only bill 4-5 hours a day That rate includes all business resources, clinic space, car to travel to peoples homes, standardised assessment fees, business insurance and having to navigate NDIS processes and rules.

#ponderous - nice to see Rebecca giving advice to to Roy after he told her that she deserved someone way better than the boring coffee shop man
season 3 of #TedLasso is simply Rebecca yelling at the men in her life for acting like a bunch of numpties and I wholeheartedly approve

#WhatIsOT? Occupational therapists use occupational analysis to understand what is affecting your ability to successfully do something you need or want to do. Occupation means ‘anything you need or want to occupy your time’ (not just ‘work’ as is sometimes thought)
Today we're launching our new video series 'Life as a perinatal occupational therapist' to highlight their amazing work. More info for occupational therapists working in perinatal mental health: loom.ly/zuoqKl8 #MMHAW23 #TogetherInAChangingWorld #MaternalMHMatters

#WhatIsOT? Development of hand skills takes concentration and effort before it becomes automatic. Occupational therapists often work with children through the use of games and activities to help develop ‘fine motor’ skills needed for everyday activities. 1/2

We also work with adults to regain or retain hand function that may be reduced due to illness or trauma. #occupationaltherapists often specialise as #handtherapists. Occupation means ‘anything you need or want to occupy your time’ (not just ‘work’ as is sometimes thought)2/2
