🏝️Hard to believe I'm packing once again for Cocos Island—my ninth expedition, and our eighth focused on science-driven birding and natural history trip in this remote and magical location!
📕 This time, we’re heading out with our newly published Guide to the Birds of Cocos Island—a major milestone for our work. Deep gratitude to all the organizations and individuals who believe in our mission and continue to support and trust us. Cocos is a truly unique place—a remote emerald dot in the vast Pacific Ocean.
🪶 From April 17–27, we’ll be exploring the island and surrounding seamounts, observing and documenting avian species, collecting behavioral data, and conducting bird counts. This expedition supports the Sea Feathers Project from the University of Costa Rica, blending field research with ecotourism as a tool for conservation and advocacy.
🥾 I’ll be leading a group of eight passionate explorers—dreaming of birds, hiking through pristine forest, and discovering the untold stories of this island paradise.
🙏 Special thanks to the dedicated rangers of the Cocos Marine Conservation Area, and the guests whose work makes expeditions like ours possible.
Stay tuned for updates from the field and follow our journey into the wild Pacific Ocean and Cocos Island!
