I have no fear in saying that a good reason of people not attending evo is the current world cup. But that is not the main reason, it's still a reason nonetheless. Another factor is the high costs, I still remember paying 70 bucks as a player and 40 as a visitor around 2015. I've said it before EVO has to pay life changing money. POT money from developers was always welcome, and it actually looked like the dev cared about their own game. It made both evo and devs look positive. but in 2026 and a top 8 person still barely making 100 bucks its ridiculous. I would rather fly to Europe watch a champions league game, than to go to evo and run through a stress run just to win 100 bucks if i'm lucky... Pay the players!
