Only when diverse perspectives are included, respected, and valued can we start to get a full picture of the world: who we serve, what they need, and how to successfully meet people where they are. Listen, learn, unlearn, know when to lead, and know when to let others lead.

Many thanks to everyone that donated to help our Sisters and Brothers impacted by the floods. Many tearful stories were shared and thanks were given in Sterling and Midland. Over $20,000 donated! instagram.com/p/CBrOcoBH-_l/…

I think the way we’re going to get $ from the Fed for schools, cities, etc...have a bill that tackles pretty much only that. Otherwise, get ready for the slashing, hurting our kids. @MASASupts @massp @galileoleads212 @ChadLivengood @EdTrustMidwest @BridgeMichigan @NetworkMIEd

This is why this AM, I am leading a group of educators in avoiding platitudes of #SEL being what @DenaSimmons called "white supremacy with a hug". Instead examing how to make transformative SEL. Shifting the onus to how to fix OUR systems, not Ss. #miched #SELinAction
Re-upping this because a few educators seem to be struggling with understanding how recent events connect to our K-12 system. School isn't just about learning content. It's also the place where we have historically been taught whose humanity matters and whose doesn't.
