Our second in four weekends of multi-million pound work in the Bedfordshire area was completed successfully and safely. We upgraded 300m of track around St Albans to help improve the reliability of the railway and we continued our work to help make Luton station more accessible.
The first of four stages of work at Radlett freight interchange was also completed including drainage, overhead line work and installation of switches and crossings to prepare the signalling works by Segro and VolkerFitzpatrick, supported by Network Rail.

Railway upgrade work means changes to services between Bedford and London this weekend (9-10 May).

Crews responded to reports of a smell of chemicals at #Farringdon station. A sweep of the area has been carried out and the scene has been declared safe. Firefighters have now left the scene.
