In honor of Military Appreciation Month, we’re highlighting New England College alumnus Troy ’26, who earned his Master of Arts in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. 🎖️🎓
It is incredibly impressive to see military personnel pursue higher education during or after their service, continuing to lead, grow, and expand their impact in the classroom and beyond the military. 🇺🇸
NEC was originally established in 1946 to serve the needs of servicemen and women attending college on the GI Bill after World War II. In 2025, NEC was designated a Purple Heart College, joining a national network of institutions committed to honoring and supporting Purple Heart recipients and military-connected students.
“Our connection to the military community has been part of who we are since the beginning.” stated Dr. Wayne F. Lesperance, Jr., President of NEC. “Nearly 80 years later, that spirit of service and resilience continues to guide us.”
