The major outcome of #NewPathwaysHelsinki is the #HelsinkiCallforAction, a recommendation to research & funding organizations as well as member states and policy makers to advance #GenderEquality & #intersectionality in R&I. The document will be published after the conference!

@NewPathways2019 main takeaway: addressing gender dimension in research is about improving research quality. Secondly, addressing intersectionality is a major challenge, no clearcut solutions.

Philomena Essed @AntiochU: #Intersectionality is a good concept from a political perspective as people can’t be reduced to one dimension. It's also imprecise, the idea of various dimensions coming from various directions and meeting somewhere. "A whole person approach is needed."
