New Vocations All-Thoroughbred Charity Show Raises Over $180,000
June 10, 2026 – Lexington, KY – The 23rd New Vocations All-Thoroughbred Charity Horse Show Presented by Heider Family Stables raised over $180,000 to support racehorse aftercare. Proceeds from the event held May 29th - 31st at Highfields Event Center in Aiken, SC, go directly towards New Vocations’ efforts to rehab, retrain and rehome retiring racehorses.
The charity show brought together over 150 exhibitors from a dozen different states, all showcasing the versatility of their off-track Thoroughbreds. The show featured a wide range of classes including hunter, jumper, in-hand, Western and lead line. New in 2026 were obstacle classes, both in-hand and under saddle.
"Over the past 23 years it's been very rewarding to watch the event grow and highlight the versatility of the Thoroughbred while raising critical funds for our program," said Anna Ford, New Vocations’ Executive Director. “We’re deeply grateful for the generosity of our sponsors, many of whom are Thoroughbred owners, breeders, and industry organizations. Their continued support allows us to host a meaningful and successful show year after year.”
Show highlights included:
Competitive and well-attended War Horse classes, all of which were generously sponsored by 100% Racing. The War Horse In-Hand Over $100k in Earnings class was won by Up and Out of Site, owned by Natalie Hendrix.
The crowd favorite Open Hunter Derby, won by Geranium, owned by Ted Gregory and ridden by Martin Videla.
20 New Vocations graduates competed in a variety of classes, including This Very Day adopted by Julia Gaskins in 2009, and 4 brand new graduates adopted just last year: Call Me Rip, Outworkallday, Guitartuition Plzz and Transition Game.
