Their findings will help us in the next stage of the Castle Gatehouse Project.

βοΈA temporary path has been laid while we develop plans for a permanent replacement, and we will reseed the grass when the weather improves. The riverside path should be open again on Thursday.

As part of our ongoing careful review and maintenance of all plants and trees within the grounds of Newark Castle, we noticed that one Cedar Tree had started to show signs of decline. We commissioned an independent arboricultural report on this tree which we recently received.

The tree is within falling distance of the Castle walls so in order to protect it, and to ensure the health and safety of all those who enjoy our wonderful Castle and its grounds, the tree is being felled today.
