Medics were able to use a woman's donated placenta to save Paul Laskey's eye from deteriorating after he was attacked with battery acid in 2023.

A father-of-three from Newcastle has said he is 'so thankful' after his eye was saved by a graft created from a donated placenta.
Paul Laskey suffered a severe chemical burn to his left eye after an acid attack in 2023.
