Elon Musk is a narcissistic sociopath. Why help him by being on this platform? Find me at Bluesky. @nickhanauer.

And here's a snippet, where Darren offers a movie allusion to the greed-is-good ethic of neoliberalism (Wall Street) because he can't help himself.

Neoliberalism has failed. What should replace it? @EricBeinhocker lays out one answer: Market Humanism (developed with our host, @NickHanauer). Watch the interview on TheSling.org What would you change about the economy? buff.ly/HoStf4m 1/2

If you’re asking, “What does this actually look like in practice?”—this is a good place to start. Eric & Nick released a free booklet for policymakers: Markets Built for Humans. It’s a clear, practical entry point into the ideas behind Market Humanism. buff.ly/DLZUVrv

How much are you paying for gas? Almost everyone knows; it’s posted on neon signs, everywhere. Electricity? It’s about the least transparent price in our economy. We at @mit and @heatmap_news launched the Electricity Price Hub to solve that problem. electricity.heatmap.news/

I fully support taxing the wealthy. I've been in the fight for progressive taxation for decades. I was a leading advocate for the WA capital gains tax & spent millions of dollars to pass & defend it. I am proud of that work. But I do not support Inslee’s “intangible assets tax”

These are serious times and we need serious solutions. You can’t solve a budget problem with an unserious proposal like this. There are tested and effective progressive taxes available. I support a high earners’ tax and super-profitable corporations should be asked to pay more.

We have to work together to find practical solutions to the budget shortfall. We need to do what we did with capital gains: build a big tent that supports practical revenue solutions. This is not that. I am super disappointed.
