Medium chance for tropical development in the Gulf this week, especially when the low moves over water in the coming days. Regardless of development, very heavy rain and flooding likely along parts of the northern Gulf Coast this week.

The @CBSMiami Tropics Tracker indicates the remnants of what once was Tropical Storm Cristina will likely move northwestward and move towards Mexico. NHC says a broad low pressure system has a 10% chance of development near Bay of Campeche.

Per @CBSMiami, the earthquake temporarily disrupted transit service (Metromover and Metrorail) after the Stephen P. Clark Center was evacuated due to reports of building shaking. Both services have since resumed.

I wouldn't want to be caught under the smoke plume from that junkyard fire in Opa-locka, especially with rain passing through. Rain drops may contain whatever particles are in the smoke and bring them to the surface, potentially staining patios and leaving residue, etc. @CBSMiami has been on the scene all evening.
