Does anyone else feel like we have crossed a line as a planet? I'm not just talking about climate change but a real sense that everything is falling apart? Look what is happening to democracy, the truth and inequality. There is a popular contempt for the poor and dispossessed which runs counter to everything I was raised to believe. America is run by craven opportunists and unserious people. AI is looking to take agency away from humanity at scale. We can't agree on anything and we are all pretending that life goes on as normal. In the Soviet Union they called it Hypernormalisation - the dissonance between what we see and what we tell ourselves is happening around us. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY. WE CAN MAKE THINGS BETTER BUT WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER.

I have a fix for the ridiculous Antifa purge. Obviously we all know that Antifa is not a real thing and they are having to make up a mystery enemy in order to put boots on the ground. President Trump yet again had the opportunity to do something meaningful re Russia but time and again he demurs. The rest of NATO should push back hard and assume that the US is no longer our partner. It is sad that we can no longer rely on the US.
