On #TechnicalTuesday we are highlighting work by @cheerful_neuron, @Nikic_Lab, et al. on click labelling in neurons. They design AAV vectors to add unnatural amino acid-based tags to their target proteins and use SPIEDAC for labelling. 📖@J_Cell_Sci: journals.biologists.com/jcs/…

We're over the moon for our new PhD, esp. me seeing my 1st PhD student graduate! Impossible to put it all into words, but Aleksandra was brave to join my group at the very beginning & she didn't only survive but she did great & got this amazing PhD hat (& other presents)😉

One of the biggest challenges (at least for me) when trying to manage crazy deadlines & heavy workloads is to stay calm & clear-headed. In some situations (like now😂) nothing helps, but youtu.be/WVP3fUzQHcg usually helps me focus & calms me down. Any other recommendations?

Uncertainty is tough. Mobility too. Parenthood (w/o extended family around),but also dual careers, long distance relationships/marriages, infertility, adoption... life struggles that don't only happen to us in academia, but that can get more complicated with our "uncertain" lives
