I'm currently building the depth gated material exclusivity system.
The goal is to make depth more than just bigger numbers. Each floor should have materials that can't be found anywhere else. If a player wants to craft the next tier of gear, they should know exactly where those materials are, deep underground, in dangerous territory, and nowhere closer to the surface.
I want players to have a specific reason to go deeper. Not because the numbers are higher, but because that's where the ore, cores, and rare resources they need actually exist.
its like i need to get to this floor for that materials, and that floor wants me dead.
So going deeper becomes a meaningful decision.
