What data are these little boxes collecting at Mack Hatcher and New Hwy 96 West @FranklinTraffic ? I pressed the button a few extra times before crossing. 😎
Sadly this @bunnrl book is marked fiction. Amtrak barely touches West Tennessee and the train inside Dollywood is actually the busiest passenger rail system in the state. 😢 @TAllianceMidTN@the_transit_guy
Monitoring Now at #tnleg : House Transportation Committee to take up HB1712, granting local governments authority to restrict class 1 & 2 #ebikes on public roads and trails. @LeeReevesTN is carrying bill in the house. Previous discussion here: x.com/NoINed/status/20266818…
Watching now at #tnleg - Senate Transportation and Safety Committee to consider bill from @SenJohnson and @LeeReevesTN that would let local jurisdictions ban electric bicycles, and automatically restrict class 3 bikes. @bikewalktn opposes because e-bikes can reduce car trips.
.@RepChrisTodd recounts riding bikes with his brothers growing up in Paris, TN. Concerned that the bill gives local government new power to restrict bikes where they were previously allowed under state law. Reeves clarifies it's e-bikes only.
The post office drives around neighborhoods all day, so they chose a fleet vehicle that's safer around people.
Meanwhile, the neighbors are driving vehicles so big that they can't see kids & pets around them.

Sen. @MasseyForSenate points out state law already requires helmets for riders under the age of 16. Sen. @Campbell4TN raises concerns about patchwork of regulations, and asks if a speed limit would be more effective. Johnson says residential speed limits are already 20-25 mph.
Bill passes with only @Campbell4TN voting "No". @MasseyForSenate notes @lemondbicycles factory is in Knox County and she has seen the (high-end) e-bikes they make there. I know small businesses like @pedego Franklin have opposed the bill.
