🌟 Presenting Abstract 3/4 of the Year from @SIRspecialists 2024 Conference, as featured in @JVIRmedia! #SIR24SLC #SIR2024 Abstract 3 of 4 : Explore "Long-Term Efficacy of Hemorrhoid Artery Embolization" - an important study in hemorrhoid treatment. 🎉🔬🩺 🎯 Study Goal: Assessing the effectiveness of hemorrhoid artery embolization (HAE) in treating symptomatic hemorrhoids long-term, in 221 patients resistant to other treatments. A step forward in non-surgical hemorrhoid therapy! 🏥💡 🔍 Study Details: ❍ Patients: 221 (115 males, 106 females) ❍ Age Average: 57.1 years ❍ Hemorrhoid Grade Average: 2.1 ❍ Follow-Up: 1-, 3-, 6-12 months post-embolization 📊 Results: ❍ 100% technical success (221/221) ❍ 90% clinical success at 1 month; 21 needed re-embolization ❍ Significant improvements in all measured outcomes (HSS, HRP, QoL, FBS, HG) at follow-ups ❍ Minor adverse events: 4, all resolved within 30 days 🔍 Insightful Observation: 18 of 21 treatment failures were linked to a dominant middle rectal artery supply. 📌 Conclusion: HAE emerges as a promising outpatient treatment for persistent symptomatic internal hemorrhoids, demonstrating notable long-term efficacy and safety.
