No, but some adult who is buying an Apple device for the first time today will have to show their papers before they can use the Internet. Here’s hoping this law gets struck down as savagely as it deserves to be.
Apple is complying with the App Store Accountability Act in Texas, and the sky is not falling.

Freedom of speech, UK: @lotuseaters_com discuss The Freedom of Speech Bill (2026), published by @ASI. Speech legislation has led to a 'two-tier' society. No party is addressing this issue sophisticatedly. My co-authors @prestonjbyrne & @legalstyleblog have provided solutions.

Producers of software, operating systems and devices are capitulating to digital ID. In many instances, they are the ones driving the push for it internationally. Say NO to digital ID.

In Britain, 1/5th of all recorded crime (approximately 1.2million incidents) relates to speech & expression. That number does not even account for regulatory & employment law issues arising from the policing of speech. From my interview with Dan Tubb of @lotuseaters_com (link below).

A unified Digital ID, with a weak infrastructure, in the era of mass data leaks? What could possibly go wrong. Say NO to digital ID
Replying to @DavidDavisMP
On digital ID, the Committee concludes that our current digital infrastructure is not up to scratch, and that rolling digital ID out on it would be "irresponsible". They are right.

My appearance on @lotuseaters_com, to discuss Britain's speech & expression laws – and precisely how to repair them – is timely. Following the Nowak protests, we are likely to see the Public Order Act (1986) invoked and "the full force of the law", as it currently stands, brought down upon the Englishman for petitioning the state for redress of his grievances.

Ofcom is coming down. Myself @MCRReiners, @prestonjbyrne and co will make it our life’s work. They don’t have a legal leg to stand on.

Digital ID, and ID based age-gating will accelerate Britain's existing free speech deficit. Such measures will make it all the more convenient for police, and prosecutors, in their effort foist Britain's soviet speech laws onto the population.

It’s not about the under 16s. It’s about forcing everyone to be identifiable online so they can suppress dissent
The Mayor of London will back calls for a ban on social media for under-16s. Sadiq Khan will join a growing chorus of Labour politicians in arguing that a ban is necessary because social media firms fail to make their platforms safe for children. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06…

Americans aren’t ignoring Ofcom’s fines. Ofcom is ignoring America’s laws. It’s ridiculous, deeply unserious, that a foreign government should think it can override the First Amendment on American soil. The UK won’t be able to engage in this charade forever.
The Online Safety Act is becoming an international example of what NOT to do. We're trying to censor the global internet, while global companies just ignore Ofcom's fines. Why are we doing this?

The UK's Internet censor, Ofcom, is apparently harassing random hobby website operators in Kentucky, who have already geoblocked the UK, to get them to comply with the Online Safety Act.

You are not a Conservative.
How much more evidence does Starmer need? Teachers, parents, medical experts, even the kids themselves are warning about the effects of social media, yet Labour are dithering. It’s time to do the right thing and raise the age limit for social media to 16.
