I would really love some advice and maybe a pep talk from the me that moved into a janky ass studio apartment in college and was overjoyed because the me that just moved into a 2 bedroom that is jankier and dirtier than I expected is really struggling

to be clear, ik this tweet is coming from a place of immense privilege - this is by far the biggest apartment i've rented and i feel incredibly lucky but i just also think maybe cleanliness is the bare minimum the landlord could've done and he didn't 🙃

I think Philadelphia might be the most underrated city in the US? When I tell people (who have not lived here) that I'm thinking of moving here I get a range of reviews spanning from "oh, interesting... make sure you check it out really well..." to straight up shit talk 🧵

So I booked a last minute trip to make sure I liked it and it's... awesome? Like that's subjective, but it's got a lot of the things I want and look for in a city, and I'm super annoying and picky. Also such a variety of areas I can't imagine there isn't something for everyone.

I'm from Brooklyn - I have engaged in more than my fair share of shit talk about other places (sorry @ all of NJ, also Phoenix is still the worst place I've ever been) but this has been a truly eye opening experience and I'm so glad I got to experience this place. 🥰
