Great post for discussion
Does the market care more about performant applications or having one platform they can build in? I think what the no-code space is looking for and what it's trying to prove is that you can truly scale using no-code tools. (At least the space bubble is looking to position themselves in)
It's easy to confuse developer preference and application performance. Most businesses don't give a shit what you develop in until there is a problem and you tell them I can't resolve this because the platform doesn't support that.
Speaking with a lot of agencies that have developed on platforms like bubble, they are now experiencing the issue where businesses aren't happy with X so they then by need start exploring tools that can resolve these issues, currently only the decoupled tools are solving these issues, and that's why they are relevant.
I think well into the future we may see the rise of an all-in-one that's truly magic, but I think this will only be clear when what that magic looks like has been shown by the decoupled tools. Prediction; All-in-one showed what's possible -> hyper focused platforms solved specific problems in the space and proved the space is real-> Big company buys two market leading decoupled solutions or one acquires another and provides the magic all-in-one.
