We did it! Noisy Union won raises of at least 20 percent and a new wage floor of $70k. Bringing everyone up to $70k means a $15k raise for some of our members!

For the next few days, we’ll be sharing testimonials from former newsroom staff about why they left @CascadePBS. There are some common themes: low pay, substandard benefits, and lack of protections. #WhyILeftCascadePBS (1/2)

Everett City Council president calls on Everett Herald management to work with @EverettGuild, give journalists a fair wage, and allow "the time and the effort to do in-depth reporting."
We appreciate Don Schwab saying this. Help put pressure on our bosses to work with us to get a fair contract👇

Our @PacNWGuild siblings @EverettGuild need our help! As Herald journalists fight for fair wages, management is offering a meager raise attached to an unreasonable daily story quota. Please tell management these hard-working journalists deserve better ⬇️ actionnetwork.org/letters/st…

Stay tuned for ways to support @EverettGuild members. They deserve better than this.
Carpenter Media presented the NewsGuild with a new wage proposal today, the company's first in about six months. It is, frankly, insulting. Perhaps most egregious, the company proposed $1.00 an hour bonus for "meeting newsroom minimum standards of 2-3 bylines per day."

The post still includes many unsustainable claims -- did voters see her as a "public safety candidate," is that why she won, who is browbeating, why did candidates who did not moderate also beat Woo or win races this year?

The Everett NewsGuild is resuming bargaining today with our bosses, the first of two scheduled sessions. We’re hopeful to make progress on our contract today. The company has taken far, far too long with this, but we’re going to take it to the finish line.

We just keep growing!
We did it! A majority of @adndotcom newsroom staff voted to unionize. The @nlrbgov counted our ballots today via Zoom after receiving a few mail-in ballots. This makes the ADN the only unionized newsroom in Alaska. Thank you for your support! #ADNunited

Rich Smith is not really a boss. We were actively fighting to put him in the unit when they canned him

Okay who actually are ALL the owners in that Oily Creek or whatever the fuck shell company Brady fronts for? Starting to worry it's like Dave "I Only R*ped Some of My Accusers" Meinert and such
After nine years of working at The Stranger 12 hrs a day six days a week, they let me go. I would die for my staff and my colleagues. I’m willing to do slightly less for other employers, but I’m open to work.
