ā³ļø It's now nearly 11 months since @UKLabour promised funding for buildings under 11m. The details have still not been published. With every day that passes, more ordinary people face financial ruin. Another broken promise.
Nearly 8 months since @UKLabour promised funding for buildings under 11m. Details due last September. Still missing. ā³ Meanwhile leaseholders in ā€œlow-riseā€ blocks are getting life-changing bills for problems they didn’t cause. History repeating itself. Change? What change?

Non-cladding defects is a scandal that merits criminal investigation. Builders cut corners by slapping up plasterboard asap to hide their cheats. Where were the inspectors? Criminal to make unqualified leaseholders cover costs. Criminal to put VAT on these essential works.

The bill is silent on the key issues @UKLabour spoke so strongly about in opposition: non-cladding defects, non-qualifying leaseholders, the failing Developer Contract, weak risk assessment standards, extortionate buildings insurance & shared ownership. insidehousing.co.uk/comment/…

Replying to @SteveReedMP
Speeding up remediation without resolving the range of longstanding issues will only entrench the harm being caused to leaseholders. Making buildings "safer" is not the same as making them fully safe and sellable. Why do you refuse to understand this, Steve?

Leaseholders and residents need action now. Labour's Remediation Bill proposals will do little to make a difference any time soon, and will not meet Labour’s manifesto commitments on building safety.

Disappointed, but not surprised. Building safety isn't a @UKLabour priority.

The warm words are the only thing happening ā€œat paceā€. New ties, same suits, same betrayal.
Today we met with @SamanthaDixonMP ahead of tomorrow’s King’s Speech. The Remediation Bill is simply too little, too late. It won't make homes safe, protect leaseholders or speed up remediation any time soon. Labour is still failing to get a grip on the building safety crisis.

Very disappointed by @UKLabour and their response to the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. Having attended this meeting today I can't see the change we need to free all leaseholders. We needed bold change and we've got tweaks. #EndOurCladdingScandal

Another @Keir_Starmer reset. But the political chaos continues. Hundreds of thousands of leaseholders remain trapped, desperate for ā€œchangeā€. The long-delayed Remediation Bill will be in Wednesday's King’s Speech. Will Labour finally fix this scandal - or break another promise?

If a #leaseholder has rented their flat out & wants to sell, they ask their tenant to move out. But as @tomcopley knows full well, many flats are NOT selling for years. Flat cannot be let out for one year if we can't sell. Harming leaseholders has become a sport for @UKLabour.
People can give notice after one, two or five years. And somewhere in between, or beyond. The Renters’ Rights Act just means landlords can’t evict tenants for no reason. No one is obliged to rent a flat for an infinite period of time. Happy to clarify that for you, Tom.

9 months after @mhclg finally promised support for residents in under 11m buildings, where is it? Residents of Riverside House in Sheffield evacuated due to fire safety risk - and not even given alternative accommodation. Totally unacceptable. @Abtisam_Mohamed @SamanthaDixonMP

Residents' rights to a safe home ignored by @urban_splash for years. Splash now claims their own human rights are being breached. Funny how rights only matter when it's their £48m bill on the line. We'll be in the public gallery tomorrow. Justice must be done & seen to be done.
