It is one of the most extraordinary World Cup team photographs. The entire Norway squad, dressed as Viking warriors, posing beside a fjord with weapons in hand.
The image has been published ahead of Norway’s first World Cup appearance since 1998. Among the players are Erling Haaland, the Manchester City forward, and Martin Odegaard, the Arsenal captain.
The picture was taken by renowned photographer David Yarrow, in collaboration with the Norwegian Football Association. Yarrow said making Haaland look like a Viking warrior was “one of the easier tasks of my career”.
