When I realize that's been about as long a time since the Nicks were doing this well as it's been since we had a great Superman movie I understand what NYC is feeling right now.

Fans noticed this week that Prime Video had categorized ‘The Chosen’ as psychological science fiction. Care to explain, Jeff Bezos? relevantmagazine.com/culture…

I totally get and support how refreshing it must be to have someone of your sex--finally, after 27 years--be running your show. No problem celebrating that. But I need people to understand how harmful--dare I say "toxic"--it is to make the headline: more women = less toxicity.

Mariska Hargitay says she always "had a secret fantasy of having a female showrunner" on "Law & Order: SVU" after 26 years. Now, with the show welcoming its first female showrunner for Season 27, Hargitay adds: “There’s such a sense of lock arms, ladies. Let’s do this together — and, at the same time, push each other to be excellent, to be great, and know that we can do it and we will figure it out.” wp.me/pc8uak-1lHmRd

This makes me really sad
Aaron Sorkin says he spent 3 days trying to convince Jesse Eisenberg to return for ‘THE SOCIAL RECKONING’. “He simply did not want to be conflated with Mark Zuckerberg anymore... He doesn’t like kids coming up to him in airports with business cards that say ‘I’m CEO, bitch’ for him to sign.” (Source: vanityfair.com/story/social-…)

Christopher Nolan on physical media: “If you buy a 4K UHD it’s on your shelf it’s yours, no company is going to break into your house and take it from you. That’s never really the case with digital distribution, you’re relying on the continued health of the supplier.” (via @IGN)

At this point I think there's really no denying it. They cast RDJ as Doom so RDJ could be on set with no one suspecting he was back as Iron Man. #AvengersDoomsday

David Harbour shares that a specific moment in ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ got him and Florence Pugh very excited: “The moment when said character does said thing that you’ve seen before... We were just pinching ourselves that we get a front-row seat to this process.” (via @Variety)

Good for them. @BradWilcoxIFS makes this exact point in his book "Get Married": couples who put fences around their marriage to protect their relationship--whatever that means for them--have much happier marriages. My review of his book at @CTmagazine here: christianitytoday.com/2024/0…

Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally have a rule about acting and marriage: They can never be apart from each other for more than two weeks. “We spend a lot of time negotiating the logistics of our lives so that we simply stay married,” Offerman says. “We feel very lucky that we feel that way. After the first day or two, I think any couple would say, ‘Great, we could all use a breather.’ But then, in reality, you get to day three, and we just need to be together. So, when we get back together after two weeks, it’s a great relief. It’s coming out of the desert to a nice chug of water.” wp.me/pc8uak-1lHmvB

The movie would be better if it was Jesse Eisenberg in the role. It also looks like it has the potential to just be an excuse for Sorkin to scream at the people he disagrees with for two hours. But his best work steelmans his ideological opponents. Still a huge Sorkin fan. So we'll see.
First trailer for ‘THE SOCIAL NETWORK’ sequel, starring Jeremy Strong, Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison. The film follows an engineer who becomes a whistleblower on Facebook's most guarded secrets. In theaters on October 9.
