The team at Woolacombe have been giving the hedgerows on Woolacombe Down some TLC.
Hedgerows are vital for our rural landscape but have been in decline. Restoring them helps provide shelter, food & safe corridors for wildlife 🐦🦋🦔
This August, our volunteers have been planting wetland plug plants around the edges of the restored floodplain at Tattiscombe on West Exmoor.
They added marsh-loving species from ragged robin to yellow flag iris, all vital for supporting insects and larger wildlife.
Join us at Lorna Doone Valley from 8 - 14 September for a week of free guided walks along with North Devon Ramblers , Wander Women North Devon and West Somerset Ramblers.

This helps bracken & dog violets to spread and link up, creating vital habitat for the #HighBrownFritillary. 🦋
