Our honouring of photography is centred around a core Speaker’s Weekend, this year held on 4th & 5th Oct, and hosted in Theatr Colwyn, the oldest working theatre in Wales and home of Oriel Colwyn.

Charlie Phillips is a true gent and his work is wonderful and so important. We both spoke at @NorthernEyeFest a few years back & he bought me chips & we chatted about our love of caravans… 😊 This book needs to be funded!

Introducing Charlie Phillips, a master of photography who Cartier-Bresson respected deeply.

@NorthernEyeFest Seen yesterday - Sat 07/10/2023 on the newly painted truncated Victoria Pier on Colwyn Bay. Ian and Marlene taking in the sun. I told them about the photography event in the town, Marlene is blind and explaining why there were so many photographers about.

We are still taking in the very sad news of Brian Griffin's passing.
He was a good friend to the festival, & an inspiration to us all. His work and humour was unique, he saw the world in a special way & always had time for everyone.
He will be missed greatly by us all.

Absolutely shocked and devastated to hear that the great Brian Griffin has passed away. Still cannot quite believe it.
A wonderful, generous, funny and kind man who endured great personal loss - and simply one of the most original and talented photographers of our age. RIP
