I've reached the PI point I've always dreaded - useless in the lab and ruining my team's experiments 😬😢

OK, I might not be able to screw lids properly and ruin long dialysis experiments but at least they still call me at night to go deal with beamline issues - saved the night shift so I guess I'm neutral overall?! 🤣

What a fantastic conference #ECIS2024 has been! Amazing programme (thank you @BenBoyd_Monash & Jacob for organising and bringing me on board!) & conference dinner (my head doesn't thank you though 🤣)! So lovely to meet old friends and make new ones! Look forward to Bristol 2025

16 yrs ago as a young PhD student I came to @DiamondLightSou with my then team as "friendly users" to test out a beamline. We broke it and went home! What a privilege it is that after so long using it & now leading my own team we got to go INSIDE the storage ring & booster 🤩😍❤

Congratulations Mostafa! Mostafa is a joint @CDTFluidsLeeds & @DiamondLightSou @njt3303 student developing microfluidic technologies which we very much hope to democratise the use of! Proud supervisor!
Congratulations to our CDT student Mostafa Soroor on winning first prize in today's CDT fluids symposium poster competition! Sponsored by @NAGTalk

Fantastic talk and what a truly amazing human I had the privilege of meeting! Thank you for coming to Leeds!
Pleasure hosting @Sciezgin for today's Molecular and Nanoscale Physics Seminar in Leeds. Combining biophysics with high-throughput single-particle fluorescence for understanding the influence of disease on membrane behaviour.

Check out our "recent" work using cubosomes to actively target cancer cells. Many thanks for the highlight @DiamondLightSou! We love firing x-rays at our lipid nanoparticles!
💡🔍 In our most recent science highlight see how multiple beamlines at Diamond reveal different insights into the pioneering research area of nanomedicine. ⬇ diamond.ac.uk/Science/Resear… @UniversityLeeds | @UniofOxford

Good times with panel 2 (the best @DiamondLightSou panel!) yesterday after a long day of reviewing! What do we do? We drink and scatter apparently!

Super exciting! And check this out for more on this awesome topic (& @MarkusDeserno talk) and an amazing line up of speakers all round 🙂 - rsc.org/events/detail/77759/…
Hello, my absolutely lovely membrane peeps! Would you maybe, pretty-please, let me proudly steer you to a MINI-REVIEW I recently wrote? It’s on asymmetric membranes in general, and differential stress in particular—subjects that I am massively interested in right now! 1/26

Come on, you can't beat the pun from Austron!
Tonight I'll be out watching the wonderful @SciAndSorcery, so we need to get the last #SynchrotronMugMadness 3 vote going before then! It's the final round of this section and it's a southern hemisphere showdown with SIRIUS (@CNPEM) Facing off agianst the Austron (@ANSTO)

£365 for a return train ticket from Leeds to Didcot! And yet again all services are f*cked! How can these prices be justified?! I'll hire a private jet next time, prob the same price and at least I'll get a seat 🤣

Fun times at @isisneutronmuon firing neutrons at lipid nanoparticles 💉💊! Also great to see the eBIC facility and our preliminary data and the lovely @clairepizzey who is collecting SAXS data for the project! Thanks @BBSRC and @STFC_Matters for funding!
