Have just proven what many of us have always suspected. Auckland council is actually led by unaccountable unelected bureaucrates and the elected representatives report to them not us the ratepayers. The democratic processes at local body level are so broken that very few people bother to vote anymore allowing woke wet weak activist types, easily manipulated by the bureaucracy, to slip in with exceedingly small numbers of votes. Case in point, the councils consultation for its proposed PC120 unitary plan abomination exposes one big lie after another. The proposed plan is so unpalatable to most that council reps have attempted to explain acceptance away as a fait au complet forced on them under legislation by the evil central government. Under pressure these reps have had to admit PC120 was actually a council initiative. This behaviour by people paid by us to support our community is despicable, shameful and duplicitous and cannot not be tolerated.

New Auckland rates bill just in. 16.67% increase on same valuation. Same crap service, same roadway vandalism, same wokeness and wastage. All with massive bureaucratic growth. The council have forgotten who they work for and who pays them.
