In January my “best friend” of 20 year decided she didn’t actually like me very much. I haven’t said much about it. But it knocked my already limited confidence. Tempted to move over to the other place but not sure I’ve got the energy to be social anymore.

Word of the day is ‘recrudescence’ (17th century): the return of something terrible after a time of reprieve.

I just checked the news and I can’t remember the last time I felt physically sick by something I’ve read. This is bad.

Loved this book so much that I bought another copy to give my MIL as a birthday gift. And made a pretty book sleeve for it too. Can’t have a chilly book in November!

This is true. But we had an EHCP.Mainstream said they couldn’t meet his needs anymore. The LA took a whole school year to agree to a move to a specialist school.A YEAR. So there needs to be more urgency across the board really.Or just treat them like children and not numbers.
Far too many SEND children in our community are waiting more than the twenty-week limit for an education, health and care plan. We need to see far greater urgency from the government when it comes to tackling this crisis, because children and parents cannot wait any longer.

I’m trying to read Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch. I’ve heard so many good things. But it’s giving me the ick. I might have to DNF this one. Is it worth carrying on with?

Paper delivery!! I’ve managed to get some short grain lined paper. That is as rare as hens teeth. (Unless you want to spend a million pounds) A5 lined hardcover notebooks coming up!

I found myself doing this with a friend who was judgemental about most things. After 20 years of friendship they ghosted me anyway. If they don’t love you for being you then they aren’t your people. And you are better off without them.

I’ve finally decided what pumpkins I want to carve this year. It might have a Tim Burton theme…it might not.

When @chayter_2000 has been away for a few days at work (which he has) I like to make an extra effort to welcome him home…perhaps something sexy and thigh high? Unfortunately for him he’s married someone who thinks they are hilarious. Bagpuss legs.

I’m sorry? The shame? The shame? The absolute nonsense of this. It just got worse the further I read. Glad the rest of it is behind a paywall because I’ve read enough.
Here's Emma Duncan in The Times, on Special Educational Needs. What is the matter with these people? (Paywalled: thetimes.com/comment/columni…)

I miss when AI was just something from books and films. Makes me want to scream. I want stuff made by humans. With skill and artistry and style. Not this bollocks.

First they bring back Feathers McGraw and now Pingu. Edward properly chuffed! If it was possible to high five an entire company…I would!
