In anticipation of the release of IO Interactive’s 007: First Light, I decided to read two novels by authors who took over the James Bond series after Ian Fleming’s death. The experience has left me with many questions about who James Bond is. Link in bio.

It would be nice to have 8 or 9 beautiful women fawning over me at once. Anyone else ever thought this?

It’s so outlandish that people would believe the family with multiple insider trading scandals would have their son solicit insider information
Replying to @EricTrump
People will believe anything.

If you started charging for all the plutocrat cock you sucked, you’d probably be very rich too
If I cure cancer I will get very rich. And a bunch of people on this site will apparently find my sudden wealth outrageous.

Do they give @PulitzerPrizes for tweets? If they don’t, this should be the first.
USA. A Mexican restaurant. We had not yet ordered anything, and the food was already arriving. Chips. Salsa. Unrequested. Free. I stopped the waiter. "We have not earned these." "They just come with the table, man." They come with the TABLE. In my land, hospitality is a debt. Every gift creates an obligation, weighed carefully, returned in the proper season with interest of feeling. Here, the gift arrives before you have even proven you can pay for dinner. This is not an appetizer. This is a declaration: we trust you. Eat. I ate with the gravity the moment deserved. And then — I must report this calmly — the basket emptied, and a new one appeared. "Did we…?" "Refill," the waiter said. "It's bottomless." Bottomless. They have wells of salsa. The supply lines of this nation are beyond anything my ancestors imagined. My friend warned me. "Don't fill up on chips, dude." Too late. I had accepted three baskets. Honor demanded each one be finished — an unfinished gift is an insult. By the time my actual food arrived, I was a ruined man. I was not hungry. I was not comfortable. I had been defeated by a courtesy. Generosity that arrives before the request cannot be repaid. It can only be survived. I know the rule now. I have made my peace with the basket. One basket. Two at the most. Who am I deceiving. There is no number of baskets I would refuse. The trust of a nation is in that salsa, and I intend to honor all of it.

The reason for this is his job in the books is as a counterspy, not a spy. He only ends up facing Dr. No because he’s on vacation in the 6th book, and for some reason they decided to start the movies there. They’ve kinda been trying to correct that mistake ever since
has the James Bond series ever tried to properly grapple with the fact that Bond is less of a spy or even really a hero and is pretty evidently a hatchet man

Have we all been getting duped by this guy? Surely nobody is this stupid. Like, you pick up more about Da Vinci’s historical contributions than this from Assassin’s Creed, and you know this freak has spent more time playing video games than he has spent studying history
Unironically, Da Vinci didn’t do that much in comparison. He mainly became famous posthumously because of doodles in his diary. And nobody cared about the Mona Lisa until it was stolen.
