After 3 of the last 4 flights that I have taken with @British_Airways were cancelled with zero support from BA, I am surrendering my Silver membership with OneWorld in favour of Star Alliance. BA are *terrible*.

I will use my remaining ~300K Avios airmiles for personal hotels, etc, but I am not using BA for work again. Horrible airline.

I was particularly unimpressed with the Cust Serv person that offered me an alternative flight home after my Dublin flight was cancelled if I could fly from Inverness. Was I supposed to swim from Ireland to Scotland? A basic understanding of geography would help your customers

As we are getting a puppy soon I needed to puppy proof my home and garden. Ended up taking 4 huge car loads to charity or the dump yesterday. My back is *really* sore.

I like this approach in principle (although it makes price transparency harder), but in practice lowering prices for some, necessitates raising prices for others in order to remain revenue neutral, and no-one is seemingly able to pay more. coalition-s.org/blog/maximiz…

This is scary, but also entirely at odds with the evidence. Malhotra has been a contrarian for decades, so no surprise there, but as an epidemiologist, Bhattachayara should be more familiar with the epi data. Doubling down on infection "herd immunity" is, at this point, stupid

It is worth noting that Dr Bhattachayara was an author of the "Great Barrington Declaration". An approach to Covid that sought to allow unchecked infection in the population that weren't in high risk groups. This was obviously attractive to idiots.

And I say idiots, because the only way that those would work would be to *permanently* exclude at risk groups from society. Which is getting very close to eugenics.

Copenhagen Airport *still* needs to have more space in their gate lounges. It has been insufficient for at *least* 20 years.

I think that there might be a slight issue with BBC weather forecast for today...

An odd drive home music selection today made up of modern Acid Techno from Marie Vaunt and '80s/90s hardcore from Bad Religion. I'm not sure how I never knew that Greg Graffin of Bad Religion was a Professor of Evolutionary Biology at UCLA as well as being a punk icon.

Yikes.
Web of Science puts Cureus and @HeliyonJournal on hold. Read the story from @joelving on @RetractionWatch featuring many sleuths that you all know about (e.g., @nickwizzo) retractionwatch.com/2024/09/…

S3:E1 of The Bear may be some of the finest TV storytelling that I have ever seen. Sublime.
