Here are basic Nvidia Control Panel Settings for your Nvidia GPU incase you don't want to touch the other settings.

Here you can see I turned off G-Sync. I turn it on and off depending on the game. Honestly playing RPG's and single player games where you are still getting 60FPS or more turn on G-Sync. You really don't need to worry about fps. Shooters and FPS, I would toggle to test.

For all the pcs I built in the last 4 years especially for AMD, the pbo settings and ram timings are significantly smoother to deal with.
Full optimizing in the bios has been great on my testing especially on gigabyte motherboards.
It's beautiful to see the way games are played
