Ganjan Kewda Rooh shrubs are located between the rivers Rushikulya and Bahuda in the north and south, respectively. It is a commercially valuable species because of the fragrant fragile white spathes that cover the blooms produced by the male inflorescence.
In the Ganjam district of Odisha, Kewda fragrance is produced in Chhatrapur, Brahmapur, Gopalpur, and Jagannathpur. Even though kewda plants can be found throughout India, it is claimed that Odisha produces 90% of the commercial kewda flower.
