We built DRIP with the colourful sneakers, we immediately found a market, outside of “sneaker heads”. A market that bought into the brands. We launched Likwidz at R900 and we sold hundreds of thousands of pairs.
We then started working towards the “sneaker head” type of sneakers pictured. To develop that TPU MD double mould and Lust took us well over 6 months. The TPU MD moulds per size being $6700 x 13 Sizes. Just to develop the sole and be innovative, you looking at R1.4M just on sole and 1st ready to wear Samples.
At the beginning, no one of us is investing that much. As time goes by, you start putting money into proper sneakers. The Sneaker will have to be R1999.99 and you’ll have to make at least, 10 000 pairs to see ROI. Tell you what? You not moving those numbers as fast as that R900 Sneaker, that’s where the market is.
The KITE Runners? Are a hit in that market we have found and helped build.
