A new detour goes into effect this week in Covington as Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project construction advances. Watch the videos to see how to navigate the 12th Street/Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/Pike Street closure on northbound and southbound I-71/75 — and find the best route to reach your destination.
The I-71/75 northbound off-ramp to 12th Street/MLK Jr. Blvd. will remain closed through Summer 2027.

🚧 Gleneste-Withamsville Road Overpass Update 🚧
ODOT announced the new Gleneste-Withamsville Rd bridge over SR 32 will open Friday, June 5th. Some ramp closures and periodic lane restrictions will continue as crews complete the project later this summer.

Last week, Clerk Parikh and Central Services Director Jason Alexander gave a presentation during the quarterly AI In Government Forum at @OKIRCOG. They discussed our AI pilot project with @medici_land_gov where we are working to make historic court records searchable.

I-71/75 RAMP CLOSURES IN COVINGTON
Beginning on or after Monday, June 8, three I-71/75 ramps in Covington will close long-term as construction advances on the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project.
⬛️ I-71/75 Southbound On-Ramp from Bullock Avenue/MLK Jr. Blvd.; Bullock Rd. between Pike St. and MLK Jr. Blvd.; no access to W. 12 St.
Location: The on-ramp to I-71/75 SB from Bullock Avenue; Bullock will also close between Pike St. and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd with no access to W. 12th St.; Simon Kenton Way will be reconfigured to two-way traffic when Bullock Avenue closes.
Reopening: The I-71/75 southbound on-ramp and Bullock Avenue is expected to reopen late October 2026; 12th St. access from Bullock remains closed through duration of the project.
⬛️ I-71/75 Northbound Exit 191 Ramp to 12th St./MLK Jr. Blvd./Pike Street
Location: Exit 191 northbound off-ramp to 12th St./MLK Jr. Blvd./Pike Street
Reopening: Northbound exit ramp reopens summer of 2027
⬛️ I-71/75 Southbound to W. 5th St.
Location: Exit 192 southbound off-ramp, which splits to either W. 5th or Crescent Ave.; the W. Fifth St. portion will close permanently. Additionally, W. Fifth Street will close between Crescent Avenue and the I-71/75 northbound off-ramp to Fifth Street.

TRAVEL ADVISORY TONIGHT IN COVINGTON
As Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project work continues, the southbound on-ramp from Crescent Avenue/4th Street in Covington to southbound I-71/75 will close tonight, Monday, June 1 beginning at 8 p.m. (weather permitting) for site preparations. The ramp is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 2.
Detour signage will direct drivers to the Pike Street on-ramp during the closure.
We appreciate your patience as this important work moves forward.
